i currently own a 2005 speedmaster. it has a locked on headlight switch on the right hand side of the handlebars. does anyone know if this is a real rocker switch locked out or just a dummy with no electrical connectivity inside? i would like to shut off the headlight and taillight when cold starting in the winter after the bike has set for some length.

| I don't know if your switch is cosmetic or not but believe that you'd be a lot better off investing $50 in a Battery Tender than making one of your critical safety features optional". If your battery isn't fully charged, the lights aren't going to make enough difference to matter. With the Battery Tender, your machine is always ready. All you need to do is check fluid levels and tire pressures and you are ready to roll. |
