2008 Speed Triple Specs Coming Soon Call Us for Details on All 2008 Triumphs

The Speed Triple mixes a monstrously powerful three-cylinder core with a top quality chassis and aggressive, stripped down stance.

The gnarly character of the inline triple is intrinsic to the Speed Triple's brutish charm. Its primal 1050cc, DOHC, fuel injected, three-cylinder engine pumps out a great surge of bottom-end torque, followed by a massive mid-range punch and impressive level of overall power. Delivering that power to the rear wheel is a slick shifting six-speed transmission. Crisp-edged engine cases and covers enhance the engine's look, as does the absence of exterior hoses. Peak power is 131bhp @ 9250rpm while peak torque of 77ft.lbf arrives at 7550rpm.

The 2007 Speed Triple comes with Triumph's second generation Keihin Engine Control Unit, with more sophisticated mapping for quicker starting, cleaner running and better fuel economy.

A rigid aluminum frame contains the engine and provides massive strength with steering geometry that gives fast-steering neutrality plus great stability. The fully adjustable 43mm upside down forks and rear mono-shock specifically developed for the Speed Triple add superb levels of quality and control.

Likewise, the pair of radial four-piston brake calipers and 320mm floating discs offer cutting-edge stopping power and feel. The five-spoke wheels add style and substance, as does the evocative single-sided swing arm. Twin high-level oval section exhaust pipes enhance the engine's distinctive and addictive induction roar, and are sheathed by polished stainless steel rather than aluminum heat shields in 2007.

Although the Speed Triple's muscular engine and chiseled chassis are impressive its sawn-off style, underscored with stainless steel and brushed aluminum parts, is impossible to ignore. Inspired by the short, cut-down look so popular on the streets of southern Europe the Speed Triple has the hooligan edge and minimalist appeal of a machine built entirely around its engine. Its heart and soul have struck a chord with riders all over the world, while its wide-ranging ability ensures outstanding performance in almost every situation, from urban commuting to hard-edged sports riding.

The LED rear light unit and clear-lens indicators complement the round twin headlights, themselves very much part of the Speed Triple's unique style. The instruments feature an analogue tachometer, programmable gear change lights, trip computer and digital speedometer.

A 3-1 full race system (for off-road use only) for the Speed Triple has been developed by Arrow Exhausts. A host of Triumph factory parts including fat handlebars, high performance exhaust (for off-road use only), a wealth of carbon fiber goodies and other cosmetic additions, such as a the anodized radiator cowl and heel guards, plus items like the belly pan and rear hugger are available from the Triumph accessories catalogue.

Four paint options are available in 2007; Jet Black, Fusion White, Scorched Yellow and back by popular demand the eyeball-popping Roulette Green.

Since its original introduction in 1994 the Speed Triple has become a true two-wheeled icon. Delivering undiluted attitude and a unique presence on the road, it's motorcycling in the most direct, rawest form available, and all the better for it.
